The world's most valuable resource is no longer oil. Where are the data refineries?

I keep hearing the phrase "data is the new valuable resource for business". Experience has taught me that data alone is like ore coming our of a mine. It needs to be refined, organized and made accessible by the business to be "information" that businesses can leverage for their success.
